"Hi dear. How are you? I hope you are getting all your meals. Remember to drink lots of water. Oh, I forgot to mention, Linda called, she said her daughter Miranda is getting married! Isn’t that wonderful? Linda is beaming. She asked about you. I had to tell her that you’re single still. Trying to figure things out. How long do you think that will take? I’d like to be a grandmother one day, you know."
Sigh. You’ve hung up the phone after another wonderful chat about how lonely and sad your mother thinks you are, but guess what, mom, you’re not lonely and sad at all. So what if you’re single? You’ve got a dog!
You won’t EVER have a significant other that is as happy as your dog is when you get home. It doesn’t matter if you were gone for five minutes or five hours, your dog will greet you with the same exuberance each and every time.
If you’ve got night of couch cuddles and movie watching planned, your dog will be there ready and waiting. They’ll even happily let YOU choose the movie EVERY SINGLE time! They’re just happy to be spending quality time with their human.
Sure, you’ll have to spring for all their meals, but hey, they earn it with adorableness and love.
In fact, they’d quite like it if you’d stop leaving THEM. They could come to work with you, or go to the grocery store. Seriously, these errands you’re running, they’ll help with all of them!
It's hard to be lonely when you have a dog. Single life is OK. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. You just keep doing you and your dog will be there to cuddle whenever you need it.
